When I was a kid I used to think that every time I saw the trace of an airplane in the sky, that these were rockets flying into space. It took me quite a while to figure out that what I thought were rockets, only had been planes flying people around.
In fact, I was so fascinated about the things up there and also of all the stars blinking in the night sky that I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. I not only wanted to know everything about the planets and stars and see them up close…I wanted to know absolutely all about the universe and therefore would always asked my Dad why things are the way they were. And every time after he finished patiently explaining the whole world to me, I asked all over again:“But why, Daddy…why is that so?“
„Why?“ is still a question I stumble upon many times, not finding an adequate answer.
And sometimes, in these moments when I get caught up in my mind spiraling through galaxies of unanswered questions, I try to pause for a second, just a teeny tiny moment. And then I look up to the sky imagining again that the traces I see up there belong to rockets bringing astronauts to new worlds and many amazing adventures. I imagine I’m one of them flying through time and space discovering celestial secrets.. and hopefully I return from my journey with all the answers to my „why’s“..
